May 30, 2025, Sacramento pulsed with excitement as one of the largest Concerts in the Park events in recent years unfolded under sweltering heat, reaching a staggering 102 degrees in the heart of Downtown Sacramento. As a local photographer, I felt truly fortunate to be part of a surprise all-female photo pit, capturing the vibrant energy of this unforgettable day. This was not just another concert; it was a remarkable experience that I'd love to share with you.
A Unique Opportunity
Concerts in the Park is a summer concert series that happens every Friday during the summer, hosted by the City of Sacramento. This Friday was headlined by the dynamic duo Phantogram, renowned for their innovative sound. Their performance attracted a massive crowd, making this event a must-see. Fans poured into the venue, eager not only for Phantogram’s set but also for the opening acts, DJ Adam J and Loose Choir, who each brought their unique style and excitement.

As part of the rarely-seen all-female photo pit, I joined 2 other talented women photographers from Sacramento. Nadia Vasquez and Kaylee Sue. This opportunity was particularly significant, as over 80 applicants vied for a spot, but only a select few were chosen. Each of us volunteered our time, fueled by our passion for music and photography, eager to capture the stories behind the lens.
